The next screening environment was at 9,000 feet near Vail, Colorado. We remained in a storm cycle with extremely cold temperature levels and great deals of snow. I made a little bivy shelter in the snow and huddled for the night. Throughout the night it snowed a bit and the temperatures dropped to single digits.
The seams are primarily taped and the material appears extremely water resistant, maybe bordering on waterproof. I was a bit worried that the dirt and dust from the desert journey would jeopardize the water resistance of the material but it did not seem to be the case. The hood is big and cinches down around the head nicely.

The weather condition was quite dreary overall with some snow flurries however extremely high humidity.
However, whatever felt rather wet since of the high humidity, consisting of the inside of the sleeping bag, so I was rather surprised that I still remained very warm at night. Ideally, this bag is for car camping, brief backpacking journeys, or any backcountry journeys with assistance (porters, horses, lamas, etc). The bag would likewise be remarkable on larger expeditions. In general this is an extremely warm and long lasting sleeping bag. In my experience, it seems to be highly water resistant, potentially even waterproof, however I did not check that feature.
The fabric is easy to wipe tidy with a wet cloth. The sleeping bag does run very small and I would recommend anybody taller than me to get the larger size. Including a small pocket for stowing away a headlamp and lip balm would be a good added feature, as would improving the zipper pull to make it easier to close it when inside.
